Lope and Pvt. Descateaux

Back when I was working out the details for Capita's Guerillas, I'd decided upon General LeClerc as being the main villain but naturally he couldn't be the one our heroes are actually outwitting day-to-day so I came up with a couple of lackeys, Privates Babin and Descateaux. (At one point I had them named "Abate" and "Costa" after Abbott and Costello, but since those names are Italian rather than French I figured I'd change it.)

This is my (very sparse) reference sheet for Descateaux giving an idea of his character design, colors, and head height. I added Lope for reference - I usually draw Lope at 2.5 heads tall, about half a head shorter than Capita, Tammy, and Benny. Descateaux is 3.5 heads tall (about the same height as Rodolfo), though his giant hat (called a "Shako Hat", in case you ever saw one in a history book and wondered ;p ) makes him look a lot taller than he really is. :)

While Capita's archnemesis is LeClerc, I've come to think of Descateaux as Lope's nemesis. He's the Elmer Fudd to Lope's Bugs Bunny routine. ;p With time, since I ended up shifting focusing more and more on Lope in the comics, these two have ended up becoming essentially the main protagonist and antagonist. :)
